Mac & Cheese

Ingredients
  1. 2 tbsp. cornstarch
  2. 1 tsp. salt
  3. 1/2 tsp. pepper
  4. 2.5 cups of milk
  5. 1 tbsp. margerine or butter
  6. 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  7. 8 oz. elbow macaroni (or 2 cups dry)




Procedure/Direction:
- Cook elbows 5 minutes & drain
- Melt butter
- Add cornstarch to melted butter
- Add spices to milk
- Add melted butter and cornstarch mixture gradually to the milk stirring constantly over high flame
- Bring to a boil - stirring constantly
- Add 1.5 cups of cheese
- Stir until cheese is melted
- Stir in elbows
- Pour into a greased casserole and sprinkle with reserve cheese
- Bake for 1/2 hour uncovered at 350 degrees

- OPTIONAL - stir 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs into a 1/4 cup of melted butter and spread over the top of the casserole
